Chillicothe Council's First Session

Chillicothe Council's First Session

Along with passage of the single ordinance, the $39.1 million dollar budget - council reappointed John Fosson as clerk, and Tom Trutschel as president pro-tem.

The single new council member of the 2014-2015 term took his seat.  Bill Showman now represents the Fifth Ward, and says he has a simple goal as councilman - to follow through with the budget and fulfill the needs of the city.

He also now chairs the Community Affairs Committee.

Nancy Ames also announced the first meeting of a new city organization.  She welcomed council and the public to learn about the "Downtown Development Commission" 6pm Tuesday.

She said she's been working on it with Mayor Everson, who will give presentation explaining it.

Ames says Mike Chesler, the hoped-for redeveloper of the Carlisle Building, will probably be an advisor to the commission but not a member.
