A press release from Ohio SPCA says the Ross County Sheriff has arrested a man accused of fatally shooting a pit bull dog off Union Lane February 17th.
21-year-old Josh Bone of Chillicothe has been charged with animal cruelty. Liver fractures in the 6-month-old pup indicate the dog likely was physically abused before being killed by a gunshot, according to Teresa Landon of Ohio SPCA.
If convicted of the misdemeanor, Bone could be sentenced to 180 days in jail and fined $1,000. He could also be forbidden from owning an animal for an indefinite amount of time.
