The Adena Warriors are SVC Baseball Champions, winning the outright title Monday with a 12-2 win against Huntington, but got help from Unioto to seal the deal with their 5-4 win against Piketon.
The (10-1) Warriors exploded with offense early, and were leading 9-1 going to the fourth inning. The Huntsmen trimmed the margin to 9-2, before Adena scored three times in the home fifth inning for the 12-2 win, via the 10-run rule.
That win coupled with (6-5) Piketon's loss, gave the Warriors to undisputed title. Piketon held a 4-3 lead at Unioto, but the Shermans scored two runs in the home 7th inning for the win.
This is Adena's 16th SVC baseball championship, and first since 2012.
