Quincy struck first blood when lead off batter Dominic Miles singled and scored on an error for the 1-0 lead.

Matt Marek's liner allowed him to reach base. Logan Bone followed with a single to center scoring Cassidy Brown for a 2-0 lead. Bone scored on a single to left by Mitch Gasbarro. The Paints caught a break when Gasbarro attempted to score during a run down for another runner heading to second. Chad Sedio alertly threw to home where Andrew Guthier tagged Gasborro for the second out. Elder got out of the inning by striking out Miles.

The Paints had two hits in the first and second innings, but were un able to get another base runner until Gauthier reached on an infield single and Sedio followed with a single in the 5th. But again were unable to cross the plate.
