WBEX Clock Draws National Attention

Piece of radio station history on History Channel's "American Pickers"

  •
Jim Osborne texted this photo of "American Pickers" co-host Mike Wolfe's discovery from the episode "Guitars, Guns and Gears".
  •
A close up of the clock. WBEX began broadcasting in Chillicothe, Ohio in 1947.
  •
While the exact time frame is unknown, it's believed the clock is from the 1950's era.
  •
Wolfe hoists the clock, asking its current owner (an auctioneer in Virginia) if "it still works".
  •
Sure enough, once plugged in, the clock and the light behind it came on!
  •
Wolfe says in the episode he purchased the clock for $235.
  •
And plans to resell the clock for $650. WBEX has inquired about the clock and is awaiting response from Wolfe's Antinque Archeology.
